Away in the Mountains

Very responsive and attentive to our needs. The road to get in is tricky for someone who doesn’t know how to navigate mountains. Hahaha. We enjoyed our weekend very much. Very quiet and relaxing!

Despite schedule conflict with community pool, family had a great time. Will definitely be coming back. Lots to see and do. Kids loved seeing a bear come to our front door lol

It was a great cabin! It was beautiful and the view was wonderful. It was stocked with just about everything one could need including a rice cooker, a crock pot and a coffee maker with both kcups and standard. The pans were nice Wolfgang Puck pans. It was only missing a rubber spatula. It had a lot of spices which was unexpected! The hot tub was clean and warm. The games were fun! It was nice to have a washer and dryer onsite. The entire family commented on the comfort of the mattresses! I usually toss and turn at night but these mattresses were so comfortable, and we all slept like babies! They had plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The windows from every bedroom were huge and the views were wonderful! The swing on the porch was wonderful! The only thing that I would change considering this was a pet friendly cabin - there is no place for the dog to go to the bathroom. They don't have any grass so you have to walk up or down the hill to another cabin's grass.

We enjoyed this trip SO much! The cabin is in a great location, and was perfect driving distance from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I can’t think of anything negative to say about our experience! We will be back!

This was an amazing stay and a great location! Breathtaking views and much to do if you just want to watch time go by with our pups! Host was great as was co host! Already looking at fall plans! Even saw 2 bears!!!! Will recommend, but would loose our secret! Memories made and views like being closer to heaven!

This place blew us away with its stunning surroundings. We faced a bit of an adventure trying to drive one of our vehicles to the cabin because of a snowstorm, but Shane came to the rescue with fantastic recommendations to ensure we made it safely. When we finally arrived, the cabin looked just like the breathtaking photos we saw—absolutely perfect!
On checkout morning, I mentioned to Shane that we were still waiting for the tow truck to return our car, and he went above and beyond by graciously allowing us to stay until noon. Once we got our car back, we headed back to Gatlinburg and had a blast using the coupons and suggestions Shane had given us. This trip was awesome! We can't wait to return for another unforgettable stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin in the mountains! The space was cozy and with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was ide—just a 20-minute drive to Pigeon Forge, yet peaceful and secluded. Shane was an excellent host, very friendly and responsive.

We had an amazing time, such an awesome experience, beautiful place and peaceful. We actually saw the bears right in front of the house!! And Shane was a super super host he’s so nice and friendly, always responds . We’re very impressed!! We will definitely go back .

Perfectly located for breathtaking views of the mountains. When you walk in it's like coming to a warm peaceful place that feels instantly like a welcoming home. We got to witness a momma bear and triplets walking down the road. Cabin was close to town but tucked back to the beautiful country soon enough. We wont stay at any other place for vacation. Money well spent, staff went beyond helping us. Yup we are blessed to find our home away from home.

Very responsive host, and beautiful views! We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub! Very close to all amenities! We had a Mama and 3 babies visit daily and nightly- The most sightings I have ever seen while down here! Great memories were made! Heads up, it was roughly a 13-minute drive down the mountain to the main road. The roads were easy, but pretty windy. I definitely expect that with mountain cabins, but If you're prone to car sickness, 13 minutes is a long time lol Also, if you bring a furry friend, you will have to walk a few houses down to find some grass for them to go out on that isn't on a slope. We didn't mind the walk, but just an FYI!

This cabin was perfect for our family of 7 and 2 dogs. It was very clean and had everything you needed to cook a meal! The views were amazing. We saw more bears there near the cabin then we did at Cades Cove! One did come up to our vehicles and up to the neighbors cabin when they were grilling. The price for this cabin was very reasonable. We will be back!

Our stay at Away in the Mountains was one to remember! It’s such a beautiful cabin with amazing views. We felt right at home!We had a few visitors every day, Mama bear and her 3 cubs. They really enjoyed the neighbors garbage and would walk past every morning and even in the evening. It made us a little nervous taking the dogs out to go the bathroom, there is really no grass area at the cabin so walking up and down the road for them to find a place to go was necessary. At one point my husband met mama and her cubs in the road on his walk back with no where to go, had to wait until the time was right to walk past them all.. very quickly. I highly recommend staying here if you want to unwind and enjoy the views. Shane and Justin were wonderful host and very responsive with any questions we had! Thanks again for a wonderful vacation.

Definitely a 5-star stay. Fully equipped kitchen, plenty of space, great view secluded enough to have a peaceful stay but minutes away from all of the fun activities. The hosts were quick to respond when needed. Definitely coming back!

Shane is an excellent host! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the space. It was clean, plenty of space, loved having rooms on separate floors. Kitchen had everything you need to cook. Grill is out front, instead of the back deck, but that was OK. Saw lots of bears every day. Beautiful surroundings. Pool was just a short drive down the road. Not too far from downtown. Lots of restaurants in a short drive as well. Thank you for having us for a special getaway for our family.

Beautiful cabin. Perfect for our group of 6 and 2 furbabies. Awesome game room . Amazing FULLY equipped kitchen… so equipped there was no cabinet space for groceries. The outdoor space on the main level provided spectacular views and the swing & rockers were perfect for relaxing. We saw a big beautiful bear less than 10 ft from the cabin. Taking a stroll, breaking into other cabins garbage. This mountain neighborhood is very charming; however, we could hear the guests/neighbors on their decks on either side and behind the cabin while sitting outside. Easy access to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and super close to the local’s Artist shops & restaurant area. Definitely check out the blown glass shop and Timbers log cabin restaurant (best meal during our 6 nights) Old Mill was nice to walk through & listen to good country music but unimpressed with the food. Blake shelton’s restaurant was awesome! Dollywood always a good time! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with the AIRBNB community

This was an amazing location and the view from the back porch was spectacular. My wife and kids loved the game room and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook a big meal for the family. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the Gatlinburg area and we look forward to coming back again soon.

it was a beautiful cabin, the driveway is paved all the way up! Just drive with sense and you'll make it to it just fine! we got to see baby wolves the last night there! most amazing experience! loved the tubs and the views as well!

Our group of 6 had a relaxing and great time at this cabin! The location is great as it is easy to get to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg through a few back roads. Each room was on its own floor and had their own bathrooms. We all enjoyed the living room set up and the kids enjoyed the game room and hot tub. We’ll return to this cabin again!
