Big Bear Lodge at Valley View

Great location up on the mountain. Close to the back entrance of the National Park. Great views out of the back. We went in August and saw a family of black bears on the property every day. The kids loved the game room upstairs in the loft. More than enough space for my family of 5

If you want to be away from the noise this is the place!! We loved the views and saw bears four times. We have a one year old and were nervous about the stairs and upon arrival we saw that the stairs had a retractable baby gate! It was a huge peace of mind for us. We loved that we didn’t have 30 pages of things to do before check out! We can’t wait to be back.

When we got there we were welcomed with a beautiful view. The cabin was clean. We had an issue with the downstairs door not latching and unable to lock, told the owner and he had it fixed ASAP. We safely experienced more bear in this cabin over 13 years of staying in other cabins. We saw a mama bear and her 2 cubs climb up a tree nearby. We saw bear every day we were there. The cabin was supplied with everything listed and some. We will keep this cabin in mind for future visits with 10 or less people.

We had a fantastic time at this cabin. The view from the deck was beautiful. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The kids loved the entertainment options - the video games and the air hockey and foosball tables. And of course, we all loved the hot tub. Our host, Shane, was quick to respond to messages and very helpful. This is definitely a cabin we would want to rent again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The cabin is very relaxing and peaceful. The bears came and visit us daily. Love watching the sun rise from the balcony early morning . I am going to miss this place very much .

I have stayed in many a cabin and this by far is the cleanest I've ever stayed in. We did not even see one bug the entire week we stayed there. The view was amazing. It has everything you would need for your stay. The only downside I would say is just how steep the road is getting up to the cabin. We especially loved the comfort of the bed. Most cabins we stay and have the most uncomfortable bed ever but not this one. I seriously had the best nights of sleep there even from my own house. I can't say enough good things about this cabin. You won't regret staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. The location is perfect with breathtaking mountain views. The area is quiet and just a short driving distance away from major attractions. The beds were very comfortable and the house was spotless. I would love to stay here again when we visit this area.

Amazing! The cabin and location are absolutely perfect, especially if you’re looking for some place to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect to all things truly important. The view of the valley and surrounding mountains are beautiful. Waking up in the morning and seeing a pillowy cloud blanket covering the valley was breathtaking. The cabin has plenty of space, the beds are comfortable and with 3 full bathrooms everyone has private space to get ready for their day. Justin and Shane are excellent hosts. Very quick to respond with answers to all questions and very kind. The fire pit was perfect for relaxing in the evenings and roasting marshmallows. We couldn’t have asked for a better place and hosts, all were first class. SMNP is within 5-8 minutes from the driveway. We had a blessed and wonderful time.

We had a great stay up in the mountains! The view was even more stunning than the pictures, and the cabin was well stocked, spacious, and full of character. A black bear walked right across the front porch on our very first morning there - such a cool experience! We really enjoyed the hot tub and porch areas. Wi Fi was great so at night we could get comfy on the couch and watch movies. Unfortunately the wood stove in the living room is only for decoration - we were hoping to use it to add to the ambiance a little, but that's OK. It's a winding and narrow drive to get up, but otherwise the area is very quaint with lots to do. We especially enjoyed Wears Valley and Townsend. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are an easy drive away too if you are looking for the more populated and tourist-y areas, or there are a lot of super neat hiking trails withing 20-30 minutes or less if you are trying to avoid crowds like we we're. Hoping to return to this area some day - would stay here again!

We really enjoy the cabin. It was beautiful and spacious. We also saw a baby bear that we talked too from the back patio. The bear stood up and sniffed us and was friendly. I’m from Louisiana and my only fear was coming around the mountains to get to the cabin .. We stayed 5 days and after a couple days the roads felt familiar. I will loved to stayed again, my husband didn’t want to leave or the kids.

Fantastic stay, the pictures in the listing don't give the views justice. Very responsive host. Would definitely recommend renting. The views were amazing, but the occasional bear sighting were our kids favorite, unforgettable memories. Beds were comfortable and spacious. 10/10 rental!

We loved our week stay at Shane's cabin! Clean and well maintained. hot tub was so nice to relax in after a long day outdoors. Location is quiet and peaceful. Loved every bit of our stay, especially the view and meeting 2 black bear friends on our first night :)

I left crying, and woke up the next day missing Tennessee. It felt like home. The Smokey’s have captured me, and within the next year I am looking to relocate. This vacation and the view from the home helped me decide where I want to go in life and it was an unimaginable moment. I fell in love with pigeon forge and gatlinburg, the freeing feeling of the mountains and how everyone is so positive, has good energy and just lives ❤️ thank you Tennessee and smoky mountains, I will be home soon ❤️

Our stay at this cozy cabin exceeded all expectations! Nestled in the peaceful woods, the location was perfect for a relaxing getaway while still being conveniently close to nearby attractions. The cabin was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed to feel right at home. We especially loved the warm fireplace and the private deck with stunning views — a perfect place to enjoy our morning coffee.

Enjoyed our family stay during Thanksgiving. Spacious, clean cabin located outside of the hustle and bustle. Enjoyed Wears Valley, close to other activities in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Very responsive hosts.

We had a great time. We enjoyed the area with so much to do and beautiful surroundings. The cabin was perfect for our family, the kids had fun with the arcade games, we loved the view from the top deck and the hot tub. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We got to see bears twice from the deck. The drive up the mountain to the cabin is very steep and winding, our minivan's wheels were spinning out trying to get to the top the first night. Still worth it though!

Great place to stay. Messaged me instantly about wifi login. Had all door lock codes before arriving and direction were spot on. Kind of tight roads for a big SUV but we had a great time.

The house is amazing, just like the pictures. There is plenty of room for everyone. The view from the top floor balcony is breathtaking looking at the mountains and the valley below. The kitchen had everything we needed. A family of bears came for a visit on multiple occasions.
