Cub Creek Retreat

Amazing stay!! The home was just as described and the kitchen was the most well stocked of any Airbnb I’ve stayed at (decent knives HELLO) The instructions and communication prior to check in were extensive and clear. There are also clear instructions everywhere on how to use everything. We did not however receive any checkout instructions so we ran the dishwasher, took out the trash, and placed the towels in the washer so hopefully that will suffice! The house is a 15 min drive up a VERY long winding mountain road but once down it’s super close to everything. The host messaged us prior to check in to ask if we were celebrating anything and when I told them it was my boyfriend’s birthday I was reminded no parties are allowed instead of a special touch to mark the occasion.

Justin was very attentive when we had a minor need late at night, shared many coupon opportunities with us and was not kidding about the bears! If you want to see bears while visiting these mountains they are everywhere! Everything was very clean and in working order. Highly recommend

Our stay at the cabin was absolutely fantastic! Nestled in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, the cabin offered a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The interior was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed— from a fully stocked kitchen to a relaxing hot tub on the deck. The location was ideal, just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, making it easy to explore hiking trails and local attractions. We stayed there for the weekend for my sons birthday. The place looks amazing just like the pictures. The house look new and everything worked as it should, except one of the games. The host responds quck and its friendly. We did see bears up front so id recommend to keep doors and windows colsed. I'd definitely recommend to visit this cabin you will love it.

My family enjoyed the cabin and all of the amenities. It’s in a great central location in the middle of downtown gatlinburg and pigeon forge. You have access to the community pools which my kids loved, the larger pool has a waterslide. Justin was very responsive when I had questions. My family would stay here again.

The drive to was fun. Upon arrival, the house was much better looking in person. Pictures dont quite capture the charm. Walking in, the house smells like it was just built. I did not want to leave. We didn't even really do much in Gatlinburg, I mean, nice house, hot tub, plenty of games, no crowds or waiting. We loved it and cant wait to return! The host sends messages to check-in and clearly cares about the people he rents his space out to. 0 issues, just perfect. Thanks again!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. We loved that all tvs, games and fireplaces worked. We loved the decor and vibe of outside in the hot tub area. You can definitely tell they care and take care of this beautiful chalet! Will be returning!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay for six nights. The cabin is beautiful and immaculately clean.!! The cabin was so comfortable and there were so many things to do. We absolutely loved it and we will definitely come back. Justin is a great host and was very responsive. We loved listening to the stream while we relaxed by the fire or in the hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals that we wanted to. We were very sad to leave. This place is fabulous.!!

Loved everything about our stay! The house was extremely clean and comfortable. The location was great - it was private/ quiet but still only a short drive to downtown and some great hikes. Additionally, it was well stocked with items for toddlers (plates, high chair, baby gate, etc.). We had a great stay and would 100% stay here again.

Beautiful cabin! We didn't realize the bunk beds were in the open space of the upstairs living room, but the second bedroom was big enough for all 3 of our kids to sleep in the king bed. Everyone had a fantastic time!

The place was exactly as advertised with very thoughtfully prepared (and labeled) amenities.
The cabin was spotless.
The only negative was not having any beach towels for the hot tub. We brought our own given other reviewer feedback and glad we did.
Would definitely stay again!

6 out of 5 stars! Private location but conveniently located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Cabin is beyond nice. So many activities for the kids. Hot tub and fireplace were huge hits. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare multiple meals.

The place was amazing. Very quiet, and peaceful. 2 out of the 3 nights we seen bears right outside the cabin. couldn't not have been happier about our choice to stay at this cabin. We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! Our family (two young kids, my husband and I and grandparents) came for a short spring break getaway. The cabin was perfectly sized for our group and had so much to do! The kids loved all of the arcades and outdoor games. We could have easily not left the cabin and had plenty to do!
I also loved how peaceful and secluded the cabin was compared to others in the neighborhood. It was on a dead-end street without cabins all around it. Just one close neighbor that we only saw once.
All that to say, this is a great space for families who want to enjoy the Smokies. Everyone was sad to leave and we all wish we could have stayed for a couple more days. That's always the mark of a great stay!

We absolutely fell in love with the property purely based on the photos & boy they didn’t disappoint. We are from Florida, so the mountain driving wasn’t for us, especially the driveway being at such a high slant. First night we couldn’t get up the driveway due to ice, but my boyfriend wanted to get the entire experience so he went out on a mission to clear the driveway and that’s exactly what he did. House was super clean & kid friendly (has a baby gate, high chair and play pen.. along with a plate/utensil set). Only downfall that we did experience was the washer not working properly, but Justin was super responsive and even sent someone out to take a look! Wasn’t a huge inconvenience for us, only a set back. Highly recommended & would stay again (if we didn’t come in the winter time, only because of the icy roads).

This was our second time staying at Justin’s Cub Creek Cabin. We enjoyed our stay very much in the Fall, and knew we needed to visit again in Winter. And now we look forward to Spring.
The cabin is immaculate and very well stocked. Although there is so much to do in the area, we took this time to just enjoy the cabin with zero other activities — and had the best time! We cooked, grilled, played the outdoor games and enjoyed the hot tub.
We’d recommend this cabin & host without question!

Easy check in process! Place was incredibly clean and had all the amenities we could ever want. Wish we had more time to take advantage of the games the host had at the house. The parking was tight especially with a full size F350 and an 8foot bed however still room to maneuver and park. The plates and glasses were plentiful overall excellent AIRBNB the way the hosts had everything labeled and organized was very nice! Heads up to future guests there are two thermostats one downstairs and one upstairs above fireplace we did not know this till last night and wow what a difference it made being early December temps drop at night! Mattresses are firm however host has a ton of extra blankets on hand to soften the feel of you don’t prefer firm in our case the firm worked out great as we were actively hiking and helped out with our backs at night after carrying our gear all day! We all would recommend this place 100% and will be staying here again on our next adventure trip!

Our stay at this incredible cabin was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning surroundings and the cozy yet spacious interior. The 3 bedrooms were beautifully decorated, and the whole cabin had a warm and inviting feel.
The fire pit was an amazing touch, perfect for evenings under the stars, and we made full use of the game room for hours of fun. The hot tub was a luxurious bonus, providing the ultimate relaxation after a day of exploring the area.
The host was super responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for a smooth stay. We couldn't have asked for a better place to unwind and enjoy quality time with friends and family. Highly recommend this cabin, and we’ll definitely be back!

We booked this location last minute and from the moment we booked until leaving, the host was incredible to work with.
We went into Gatlinburg the first day we were there. Instead of parking in town, we went to the bottom of the hill, parked at the visitors center and took the trolley in. So fun for our kiddos and such an easy way to get around if you’re just looking to explore. The condo was so easy to get to GSMNP and we even saw a mama and her cubs on our way to the condo one evening.
Incredible location for what our family of 6 was doing!

I recently stayed at a lovely cabin in Gatlinburg, and I can’t recommend it enough! The amenities were fantastic, making our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. The cabin was spacious yet cozy, providing the perfect atmosphere for family bonding.
One of the highlights was the convenient location. Being close to the trolleys meant we didn’t have to worry about driving or parking in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, which was such a relief.
The place was immaculate upon arrival, and it truly felt like a home away from home, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a great family experience.

We stayed three nights in this cozy wood cabin, a short drive from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The cabin was clean, and Justin was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. After long hikes in the park, the hot tub was a great way to relax. We also enjoyed having a pool table and arcade games for downtime. Overall, it was a great spot for a peaceful getaway.

I've got to give a shout out to Justin who was helpful and responsive. The house was very clean and just as described. Easy check in/out. There was lots to do upstairs with the pool table and arcade games. The house is on a quiet end of the street/neighborhood but lots of winding narrow roads to get to it. The location, between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, is ideal for visiting either town. The only negative things would be there were no spices, something as simple as salt and pepper, and we only had one bath towel each to use. But as Justin suggested we used the washer/dryer to refresh our towels since we were there for 4 nights. Next time I would bring my own towels. Also be aware you share a driveway and parking with another cabin. The description may have informed us of that, I just don't remember. It was a fun time with family and we had two visits from a momma bear and 2 cubs, which, watching them, was one of the highlights of our stay there. We were very pleased with the house.

The cabin was great and so was our host Justin! There are definitely bears out there so be mindful but they seem non aggressive! My kids loved shooting pool. They said the air hockey didn’t work that great but they had other things to do that they loved. Our oldest spent a lot of time out on balcony watching movies.
The cabin is absolutely beautiful and I really did not want to leave at all!!! Thank you and we will be back

We really appreciated the quick response from the host when technology decided we didn’t need to watch TV in the loft 🤪. They were quick to respond the evening of our arrival and had a handyman over the next day. The handyman was amazing while working at the property while we were there. We really appreciated his kindness and the information he shared while working on the TVs.
The only thing we wish we had understood better was the number of bath towels. While we were only four guests, the cabin slept 8-10 people so we didn’t expect to only be left with four smaller size bath towels. It didn’t affect our vacation, just recommend not only bringing the pool towels recommended but bringing extra bath towels with you for your visit.
We stayed here while visiting family and really liked the secluded but easily accessible accommodations. The games and amenities here really helped us balance exploring the area and relaxing at the cabin!

The house is beautiful and stocked with a ton of things to do on the property! Windy mountains roads to get there but conveniently located to town. You can tell they put a lot of thought into every detail of the home and it looks just like the photos.
We saw lots of bears in the area, so that was kind of neat, just be aware of your surroundings.

Everything pertaining the house and the host responsiveness was excellent! The house is tucked away about 15 minutes out of town which makes it peaceful. You want to make sure you can drive on the steep and windy roads, because it is in the mountain.
We loved all the games at the home; it was very clean and the beds were comfy. We were very satisfied with the house, just wish the airbnb fees and extra expenses weren’t so much!

Justin was a wonderful host. Anytime I had a question he was always available with a quick response. The cabin is beautiful. My kids enjoyed the arcade games, pool table, outdoor chess and hot tub. We saw 3 bears in the neighborhood our first day there and on our last night we saw a mama and 2 cubs. I wouldn't hesitate to book this cabin again next time we're in Gatlinburg.

A bit smaller than the pictures lead on but just fine and clean. Newer cabin for the area so that’s a plus. It’s lower on the mountain so it’s secluded but not a great view. You could do much worse for the area. It being new goes a long way. Would stay again…

Cub Creek was wonderful. We took a few days to just enjoy the amenities provided at the house. Our favorite was the outdoor chess board! The house was close to town as well as the welcome center where you could catch the free shuttle to town. Will book again when we return to Gatlinburg.

This house was even better in person than online, which isn’t always the case with Airbnbs. The house has a little bit of something for everyone in the family. After a great day of hiking or riding alpine coasters, it was great to retreat back to the house with a hot tub, outdoor games, and pool (game). The house was the cleanest rental we have ever been in (no joke, THE cleanest ever) and Justin was incredibly responsive. We wish all hosts were like Justin!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Justin’s place. It’s was clean, comfortable and just the right size for our family. The kids enjoyed the loft area with all the games and the activities outside. Our favorite part was waking up and walking outside on to the balcony to have coffee and hear the calming water streams around you. This feature was most memorable for me. We enjoyed many activities outside the home with the help of Justin’s guide and coupon book. We would definitely recommend this gem to everyone!

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything was a 10/10 with the only exception of the bedding and the electric fireplaces. The bedding was very sparse. We only had a single fleece blanket and sheets on our bed so it was very cold. Luckily we had a thermostat on both floors so it was not bad. The fireplaces did not have the heating elements hooked up so they blew cold air but they were there for ambiance only. We loved it though and it was still very worth it!

Justin’s home was beautiful & accurate per description. He is an extremely friendly & responsive host. His listing felt like home away from home. We were able to check in early which was so helpful as it began to rain & we had nothing to do. The home is close to everything which was great for us. Fantastic stay in the Smokies! My husband and I decided to bring our three kids to Gatlinburg for Mardi Gras break, and we were lucky enough o grab this place. It was easy to find, and Justin (host) reached out in advance to be sure we knew the best way to find the cabin and check in. Justin and his wife wrote a guidebook to the area that was very helpful. He also sent us a coupon book, which we put to good use. The home was clean, updated and full of cozy spaces and fun games. We all enjoyed the loft space with the pool table and arcade games. The hot tub was a big hit too! Even the kids managed to relax and unwind for a few minutes! Justin was always responsive with any questions. This home is also a very easy distance from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We highly recommend, especially for families with small kids.

This place was great! Had plenty to do on the rainy days and was close enough with a short drive into gatlinburg you were in the middle of it all! The king mattresses are very firm, good for some and not so good for others. Overall the place was great and we hope to stay there again! Justin is very responsive and helpful!

Justin’s cabin was absolutely amazing in every way! I’ve never stayed in one that was so clean! It truley was spotless everwhere. We felt right at home. Justin was such a wonderful host. We were concerned with some weather coming in and he was quick to respond and give his recommendations. There is endless things to do at the cabin if the weather isn’t the best from pool, arcade games, checkers, air hockey, a large outdoor chess set, the hot tub and the fire pit! There aren’t enough words to describe our stay! This vacation was a big deal to our family. This is the first vacation since our youngest was born and since we almost lost our eldest son due to an undiagnosed heart issue. This family vacation was 1 to remember and this cabin was perfect for just that!Not only was there plenty to do in beautiful Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but the cabin was full of family fun that could last the whole week! From the arcade games to the pool table to the other games and hot tub there was always something fun to experience at this cabin! The kitchen is beautiful and anything you can ask for! The roads are a little tricky but totally worth the drive, and after a day or two navigating them it is a breeze after that! Justin was always eager to help if something came up, and fyi I only got confused on the tvs so nothing big came up. The beds were comfortable and spacious! Our family really enjoyed this trip and we will be back! It was a blessing and a joy!

Justin's place was great! It was roomy with a great two floor layout but yet cozy and comfortable. My 12 year old daughter loved having the upstairs to herself with her own bedroom, bathroom and game room. The first drive to the cabin with the curves and hills made me a little nervous but it wasn't bad at all and the steepness of the driveway was tame compared to other cabins we passed. There is one cabin across the driveway from this one and one behind this cabin but it still felt very private. The decks on both levels were nice and we loved relaxing in the hot tub every evening after long days of activities. The cabin is in a convenient location between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and a short drive to each. The cabin was clean, the kitchen well stocked, plenty of TVs throughout and the pool table and multiple arcade games were fun. I would recommend Justin's place and would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Cub Creek Retreat! We were greeted and welcomed in by the cutest bears. The home was a dream! Somewhere you never want to come home from. The bedrooms were amazing, high ceilings, roomy & the fireplaces were such a cozy add on. It has a awesome game room for you and your family to enjoy and 2 awesome entertainment patios/decks. The outside games were a lot of fun + campfire. The home is equip with everything you need for your stay from kitchen amenities to extra bedding & if you have kids they do supply a highchair & pack and play for your little ones which was very convenient for me. If you like driving up/down mountains this cabin is for you, such a cool experience and lots of chances to see the bears and snap some photos. A few nights of our stay the bears wanted to come over to hangout with us the mama even took a dip in the hot tub while her babies sat on the patio. Overall we loved our time here and would love to come back and stay again! Best cabin yet!

The cabin was exactly as described. It was cozy, clean, and all amenities were in working order. My kids (13 & 9) loved all of the yard games, as well as the arcade games. The hot tub was a great size, and it was nice to wind down in the evenings. All of the extras really pushed this place over the top!
The location is a little bit off of the beaten path and there are some narrow, windy roads to access the cabin. However, we are used to that kind of terrain, so it was no big deal for us. Parking is tight if someone is renting the nearby cabin, but we only had one vehicle (an SUV) so it worked out.
We did see multiple black bears over the course of our stay, and my 9 year old said it made all of his dreams come true!
Our host provided a lot of information ahead of time, and was also very responsive during our trip. We really enjoyed everything the cabin had to offer, and we would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful home! Very peaceful my family and I had an amazing stay here. No Mountain View’s but the scenery here is beautiful.
Pros: Extremely clean, beautiful home, decorated so nicely, plenty of activities for the family right in the home. Fully stocked with everything you need.
Cons: the streets leading to the home are very narrow and that’s not an exaggeration. There are so many steep drop offs. I do recommend a very experienced driver take the wheel. If you are not used to driving on these types of streets you may want to reconsider we ended up on a street that was a dead end (no signs staring this) and a cliff was right there VERY scary as we were driving at night! These cons have nothing to do with the home or the host as both were very great no complaints about either.
Bottom line: would I recommend staying here YES!! Just consider the streets when booking just to make sure you and your family stay safe in the mountains.

Our family enjoyed Justin’s cabin. It was great to have lots of amenities like the pool table, gaming systems, corn hole, and other games we could play together. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub.
The cabin was very clean and beautifully decorated. It worked out well to have 2 stories since we had our teenagers with us.
Justin was proactive in his communication and checked in often. He was responsive with any questions we had.
The cabin is located in an actual hollow so there were not sweeping mountain top views but it felt secluded and away from it all. The roads coming in and out of the cabin are very narrow and curvy, but it did not pose a problem for us to maneuver as we are used to driving these type of roads.
We did see several black bears near our cabin, which was amazing! We made sure not to leave any good in our vehicles and followed all the rules in the cabin about trash and food disposal.

Justin’s place is brand new and in pristine condition. The area feels secluded but is an easy drive down the mountain and into the heart of everything. The house is beautifully decorated with so much for a family to do and enjoy. There are helpful instructions through the house in all the places you need. Really is a luxurious cabin.

the cabin is very nice and very clean. . my children enjoyed the game room and the Arcade. but in the four days I was there, I didn't have access to the internet, it wasn't fixed. and the phone signal is very poor there … but everything else is fine with the cabin. i recommend it. but just make sure the internet works before renting the place

There is nothing but endless options of fun for all ages at this property. The host Justin is very professional and quick on the response time if any questions needed to be answered. One of the best bnb experiences we’ve had in a while. The cruise up the mountain to the cabin is on an incline most of the way so make sure you have a vehicle that can climb well without stress! This place is an absolute gem! Gorgeous inside and out with everything you could possibly want for a weekend get away with the family! We loved all of the indoor and outdoor games and were so impressed with the fully stocked kitchen and highchair and baby gate for our toddler. We had a special visitor in the form of a friendly black bear (who we affectionately named “Terry”) who wandered the street but didn’t stop us from enjoying the entire property. We can’t wait to come back!
