Lazy Bear Lodge

Our stay at the Lazy Bear cabin was amazing! Tucked in a quiet cul-de-sac, it felt private yet close to plenty of activities within 30 minutes. The winding road up made us feel truly nestled in the mountains. The large windows and vaulted ceilings made the space feel bright and inviting. The highlight was the bears—we saw 2–3 daily, including a mama with her cub! The hillside backyard was their path, so follow the “no food outside” rule—we even watched one carry off a neighbor’s cooler. Our family of four (including two teenagers) was very comfortable; the king bed and pillows were fantastic. The pull out sofa worked great and left enough room for a twin sized air mattress. The cabin was clean, well-equipped, and exactly as described. A perfect mix of mountain charm, wildlife, and convenience! We will definitely be back! Justin was an excellent host and his response times were some of the best I’ve experienced with AirBnB!

If you’re looking for the wow factor when comes to a peaceful, middle of nowhere experience with just enough excitement from nature this is the place. The cabin was cozy, clean and well organized. It’s not too far from local shopping, entertainment, hiking on foot or on horseback. The cabin also has a hot tub which was perfect after a long day of exploring. To top it off we were visited everyday by the local black bears! The host of this property was perfect, Justin ensured we had just the right amount of information every step of the way, from check in to check out and even gave us places we could bring our dog on hikes. If I could rate this as a 10 I would, it’s amazing at worth the trip!

The surroundings are simply stunning!!! The cabin is adorable. Justin was very quick to respond to all questions. Unfortunately , it was pouring upon our arrival and the few wooden stairs & slippery flagstone were challenging. Previously in our airbnb stays there have been more kitchen provisions. For instance, napkins, some spices, sugar, tissues, etc.. just be prepared to supply everything you might need. Otherwise, a very comfortable stay.

The cabin was exactly as described and pictured. It was so beautiful and cozy. We had a bear come and sit at the back door. Just checking us out. It was so surreal. Would definitely stay at this place again!

Everything about this property exceeded our expectations. It was clean, it had everything we needed, and the host was excellent. We loved how it was just minutes away from Little River. The location can’t be beat. The tree/ waterfall tub was so neat. We loved the hot tub too. Our favorite part about this cabin was the bear activity. We saw them daily. These bears had no fear of people, so you have to be very aware. One surprised us and walked right up while we were grilling. We loved it!

My husband and I traveled with our two dogs as a quick vacation before we welcomed our first baby into the world and it was everything and more we could have hoped for! The house was in a great location and easy to find. There are other houses around, but it was so quiet and we still felt completely secluded! We had a little issue with the code to unlock the door at check in, but Justin was quick to respond and had it fixed in a timely manner. We loved going to the general store and the coffee shop right down the road. Also had breakfast at Elvira’s and it was so good!

This cabin was perfect for our anniversary get away! We had issues with having the wrong code at check in but Justin quickly resolved it. We were able to see a few bears, one even got onto the front porch. The surrounding area of the cabin was great for letting our dogs out! The distance to local attractions wasn’t bad either and we loved that there are soooo many close by. The only thing I wished was that there were basic seasonings in the kitchen. Overall our stay was great and we will be returning to stay in Justin’s cabins!

Our charming little cabin was nicely appointed for the two of us. We enjoyed the hot tub and porches. The bed was very comfy. We brought our 2 dogs who had to be leashed at all times bc of the bear activity in the neighborhood. It wasn’t an issue but something pet owners should know.

Amazing stay in the Smokies! We stayed here while driving with our doggo from NYC to Alabama as part of a big move. The cabin was private while being easy to find and the front porch was worth every penny. All of the comforts of home! This area may become our new Lake George (iykyk) and would love to come back to stay right in this cabin. Thank you!

The cabin was lovely and the perfect size for me and the husband. Super clean and cozy with all needed amenities. Check-in and out was a breeze. I also had a great and fast communication experience with the owners durning booking. They even sent information about great attraction and recommendations in the area.The location of the cabin was amazing for us, with giving the "up in the mountains feel" but still being a great middle ground within 25-35 minutes from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Great Smokey Mountains National Park Sugarlands Visitors Center. Definitely recommend!

We absolutely loved staying at the Lazy Bear Lodge! The drive to the cabin winded up a mountain and had some very steep inclines and turns, so definitely be prepared for that, but the upside was that there was minimal traffic on the road leading to it.
The cabin is well-loved and clean, and it was great having the option to relax in the Jacuzzi bath after I got spooked by seeing a bear patrolling the cabin within an hour of arrival. We had two toddlers and two dogs in addition to myself and my husband, and we felt like we had plenty of room.
The cabin is relatively convenient to attractions given its location. You can get to Cade's Cove or Pigeon Forge within 20 minutes, and Gatlinburg within 45. Personally we didn't mind the longer drives because the views were absolutely amazing.
Justin was helpful, responsive, and a great host. We definitely recommend this place, and we can't wait to go back!

What a find!!! Perfect for two. Lazy Bear was just what we wanted. Hot tub was great! We saw a small bear check out a couple other cabins while we were sitting outside! He was a stone’s throw away as it passed our cabin and went into the woods! About an hour later it came back through the same way. So, the bear crossing sign is legit!!! We loved it and plan to come back!!! Thanks, Justin!!!

We had a great stay here over spring break. We were greeted by the neighborhood bear who watched me unload the car and then tried to get in it while I was in the house. The location was perfect for us, far enough from pigeon forge to get out of the crowd but just a short drive away when we did want to do the touristy things. There was also a great little coffee shop just down the road. There was also a neat little bar between there and pigeon forge with gem mining for the kids and a great waterfall view.

My husband, two dogs and I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! We both said it was our favorite air bnb we have ever stayed at! I loved that you could drive 30 minutes into Gatlinburg or go down the road for some coffee and food. We loved Elvira’s cafe for food, we went twice! The cabin was very clean and cozy, we even got to see a couple bears!

This cabin was absolutely perfect for a mountain get away! Our favorite part was the fire place as well as the gorgeous views from the porch. Only thing to note is the roadway up to the cabin is very steep and windy. If you are not use to mountain road driving, prepare yourself because the drive is ABSOLUTELY worth it! Will definitely book again when in the area!

Definitely a nice cabin and eas very clean. The fact that allow fur babies is also great. My wife thougt this was to far from pigeon fordge but really it is not bad at all. We liked that it is kind of in the middle between Townsend and pigeon forge.

We had such a great stay! Everything from booking to checkout was seamless with Justin. He was always responsive and kept in touch with instructions and answered all of my concerns. Place was great. Great property, very clean, peaceful and serene.The pics you see online is exactly what it looks like. The bed was super comfortable. We saw 3 bears playing behind our cabin and they came up on the back porch. If you go in the winter though i highly highly recommend a 4wd only or you want be able to get back down if it snows. We stayed during the winter storm jan 2025 and if we didn't have a 4wd we would had been stuck up there.And you have great views.

We loved staying at Justin’s place! A few things that made it great: the location- a peaceful location while still being pretty close to the popular towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There is a great coffee shop right down the road (The Heavenly Roast) along with a few quaint country restaurants and antique shops. The bed and pillows were super comfy, and the water pressure was great. the lodge was perfectly clean and even had cute Christmas decorations. The hot tub was a great bonus as well. We will definitely be staying at Justin’s place the next time we are in Eastern Tennessee!

What a perfect getaway. This was our 20th anniversary get away and what a beautiful, private, rustic cabin. So cute! Three different occasions, we saw a mama bear and 4 cubs, one time was on the back porch. 3 of the cubs were peaking through the wooden rails. They were so cute just to watch. The cabin is well-appointed and we loved that it was on a cul-de-sac. Our two Rotties, Koda and Bella, enjoyed it as well. Thank you for having a vacuum cleaner so we could get any lingering fur. We so appreciate you opening up your slice of paradise to us and we hope to stay here again. We did Laurel Falls, Cades Cove, SkyPark, Exotic cars and zip line (would recommend Wahoo for this..they were so nice and fun). The bed was very comfortable, the shower/tub so beautiful with the rock. The kitchen had everything we needed. If you are vegan, two spots that are really good are Peace Social in Townsend, Thai Basil and Sevierville and Bhat in Gatlinburg. Thank you again! Stephen and Lisa

Overall, our stay was great. The property was clean, check in was easy, and the bed was comfortable. We had an issue with the water our first day there but Justin was quick to respond and solve the issue (the HOA replacing a water filter at the time) We saw a lot of bears- 17 to be exact. (14 of them were right at the property) They were cool to see, but my car was broken into twice by the bears and we were left with some damage on my jeep. Of course we know that’s not Justin’s fault, it’s the area and the bears are to be expected in the smoky mountains. Bear spray at the property would probably be a good idea. Everything else was great and we enjoyed our stay.

This cabin was perfect for a weekend adventure with my friend and our dogs. It was a cute cabin a great location in the smoky mountains. It’s close enough to activities in the cities and the National park but far enough to feel secluded. We were lucky enough to see a bear as soon as we arrived and we were unloading the car, and then 2 more came and explored the back porch in our last day. A perfect place to relax and spend quality time with our senior dogs. I definitely want to come back!

We loved our girls weekend trip.
We stayed indoors in the nice air conditioned home most of the time because of the heat.
Very comfortable furniture to spend lazy days napping and gal pal bonding. It was too hot out to use the hot tub and we never could find the pool but we still enjoyed our time there at the cabin. We had a lot of privacy even though we did have neighbors close by, and the cabin was very cozy.

Cozy and well-equipped cabin with an extremely comfortable king size bed. We brought our dog who was right at home, although a bit traumatized by a mama bear who appeared 10 feet from the front door as we started a walk. We decided to forgo any more walks and found dog parks instead. Justin was great at communicating with us.

Very welcoming, cozy and relaxing vibes all around. The hot tub was great and just what the doctor ordered to relax even more. Centrally located to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Very quiet. Leaving for a show in Pigeon Forge at 11:30 am on Thursday morning. Had just backed out of the parking space and looked up to see Momma Bear and 5 cubs just ambling down the street. We were very cautious and watched as they strolled to our neighbor’s back porch and sat for a brief time while Momma groomed the cubs. The sighting made a great time even better. We would highly recommend for a stay and we intend to return.

We had a great stay. The place was very clean but you need more forks and towels. One towel set per person for four night stay does not work well. It was fine since we brought some towels ourself but one more big towel would have been great. We only had two forks but we made it work. We would stay here again. It was in a great location. We hiked all day and sat in the hot tub every night. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Our cabin stay was exactly what we needed for our getaway! It was our home away from home and truly provided everything we needed during our visit. The cabin was in such a peaceful and semi-secluded area to enjoy nature but was a short drive to all the places we needed-wanted to get to. We loved that it was pet friendly and our dog, Blu seemed to enjoy being there as much as we did! Justin was a great host and responded quickly to us. Loved the location at the end of a cul-de-sac. Very peaceful and quiet. Backed to Smokey Mountain National Park with no neighbors behind you. Cabin was clean and had basic supplies and amenities. Communication and check-in was easy. We would love to go back again. Easy short drive to the park. Bed was comfortable.

My husband and I stayed with our dog, and the home was great. The bed was comfortable (this is huge!), and we had everything we needed. We had one hiccup, contacted Justin, and problem resolved! Happy with the prompt response. This location is close to the Park without going into Gatlinburg and the masses of people, but should you want Gatlinburg it's close and easy to get to. While the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, knives etc. there were no additional amenities - salt, pepper, storage bags, etc. so be sure to bring your own (we always do!) WiFi connection was solid. And the home is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so there is no thru traffic and things are quiet. We enjoyed our stay!

This was the coziest little cabin. The hot tub was amazing and very clean. The drive up to the cabin was very steep and curvy so definitely need to be cautious. Our favorite part was the view from the main road and the mountain brothers general store has THE BEST fried pies. Will definitely be coming back!

Don’t even know where to start… When we first pulled up the cabin looked nicer than the pics online. First thing when we walked in the cabin was in EXCELLENT shape!! You would never know that it was a pet friendly cabin. The cleaners deserve and huge pat on the back and wish would have had more cash on hand for tip then we left. The cabin looked nice online but was so much better in person, was surprised to see a 55” tv in living room and a 50” in bedroom. I was curious about the shower but it was actually pretty cool and can say we have never stayed in a cabin with a shower like that before lol Was really cool to have a real wood burning fireplace. The cabin was great with absolutely everything you would need for a great stay! The hot tub was perfect and really peaceful and private. We loved the location of the cabin at the top of that mountain with nothing above you looking down and was so peaceful that you didn’t hear traffic running up and down the roads. The area was amazing From “hillbilly’s restaurant” delicious breakfast and “Heavenly Roast” great frappe’s and a real coffee shop!! If you are looking for some of the most breath taking views while never leaving your vehicle the entrance is literally right down the road. We headed out to the foothills parkway and enjoyed the missing link then onto the tail of the dragon and on to Fontana dam. From there we followed the road to Cherokee and over the mountain back to gatlinburg. We even saw elk crossing the road!

Beautiful cabin in the mountains. My wife and I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing few days. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. Great decor, very cool shower/jacuzzi combo. Cabin is close to the Smokie Mountains. 20 minutes from the main drive in Pigeon Forge. There are restaurants and coffee shops closer in Wears Valley. I would definitely recommend for a romantic getaway

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay! It was the perfect cozy cabin in the Smokies for a few days. We loved the hot tub for relaxing in the evening. There were a few other rentals near by but it was still very peaceful and private. It was really quiet and peaceful. There were beautiful views just walking down the road from the house. There were a few minor maintenance issues but none of these subtracted from the experience! We were sad to leave. Thanks for a great stay!

My partner and I had the perfect romantic getaway weekend! The cabin is so cute and cozy and just the right size. We ended up deciding not to brave the hot tub with how cold it was during our stay, but that didn't take away from our time at all. We loved having a wood burning fireplace to snuggle up in front of. This was my girlfriend, baby and my first trip to Tennessee. Perfect place to visit, we didn’t even want to come back home. Drove out there from Texas. Man oh man, was this cabin just the perfect spot to stay at. Quiet, private, and so darn beautiful. A cabin on the mountain, what else could you ask for. Easy self-check in which I loved, easy instructions on how to get there, discount book, and ideas of places to visit. I love parrots and because of Justin’s suggestions I visited the Parrot Mountain, and oh it was just such an amazing experience! Everything was absolutely perfect. Already planning our next trip here for next year! I highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it!

We booked last minute, and fortunately were able to stay 2 nights. The cabin is clean and allows pets. The location is fantastic and close enough to fresh coffee and fun. Justin was responsive, kind, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Few things to note, there is construction going on across the culdesac, and down the street on weekdays and looks like it will be finished soon. The internet speed could improve, but you are in the mountains. We will definitely have Justin host our family again.

Justin’s place was just right for the two of us! We wanted something between Cades Cove and Pigeon Forge and this was perfect! The bed was very comfortable and we loved the shower/bath combo! We really like that there were a couple of trails really close by. We got in town a little early and took advantage of the Little Greenbrier Trail, which was nearby. We would stay here again for sure!

Everything was perfect, felt like home . Justin responded so fast when we wrote him . This was our first time coming to Tennessee so we wanted to be cozy and bring our dogs on this trip . The dogs enjoyed also . Sadly we didn’t get to see any bears but overall trip was amazing. We will be back next time maybe to try one of Justin’s other cabins this time

This was a great small cabin to stay in! We were able to balance our anniversary trip with some peaceful time at the cabin away from the city, which was quite nice. The cabin was very cozy & the neighborhood was quiet. We got to see a special guest (bear) as we were loading up to leave.

My husband I really enjoyed our stay the Lazy bear cabin, Justin was excellent at responding, and over all a phenomenal host! The cabin was beautiful and perfect for our little get away! We were able to see dolly, as she came up on the back porch whilst we were griling around 12 pm! The shower and tub were one or My favorites (the record player bring number 1) over all we enjoyed our time, and can't wait to return!

This was absolutely perfect for our little family, the location is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway yet still very convienent to everything Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg has to offer! Justin was a great host, very responsive, provided clear instructions and made this trip so seamless from the get-go!

This Cabin is the perfect place to get away and enjoy the privacy and beauty of the mountains. It was a perfect little cabin, with a private hot tub and right next to the smokey mountains. the only issue we had was the TV remote did not work it only turned the TV on/off nothing else. But that did not affect our stay whatsoever. All in all I would 100% recommend this to anyone else with or without a pet who wants to get away and enjoy the amazing hiking trails.

I can’t say enough good things about Justin and this cabin! Justin was nearly instantaneous with his responses and super helpful. His information and tips for our trip made literally everything from check-in to check-out even better. The cabin was exactly as described. It is located close enough to be able to do everything you may wish to do, but far enough from the busy towns to have complete peace and quiet. It was perfect for a couple looking for a cozy, fun, romantic vacation :) We are already planning on coming back next year!

Justin’s place was right in the mountains! It’s about 10 minutes to the adorable charming town of Townsend, 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge and 30-35 minutes to Gatlinburg. The best of everything! The cabin was exactly how it was described, picture perfect!

Had an amazing time. Very warm and homey. We loved spending our evenings in the hot tub after a long day of siteseeing. We also enjoyed having a nice kitchen to cook meals in, which saved tons of money on our trip. We are both students and this cabin provided a quiet, peaceful space to relax and study. Having the ability to wash our clothes and towels was a plus as well. We didnt have to lug dirty clothes back home to wash. The bed was clean and comfortable and the very large jetted bathub was the best part of the whole cabin!

Great cabin! Current construction but the guys working were super nice and helpful. It was wonderful to enjoy a cup of coffee on the front deck in the morning. We also got to see bears at the cabin! We were sad to leave but excited to return! I’d give this more than 5 stars if I could!!

My husband and our dogs had a great weekend here! Everything was clean and well furnished. Hot tub worked well. There was construction on 2 of the houses in the coul-de-sac but it was barely noticeable. We would definitely stay here again!

We rented from Justin during spring break and we had a wonderful time. Justin is so friendly and extremely helpful and very quick to respond with any questions we had. He sent recommendations on things to do in the area ahead of time. The cabin was so cute and very clean. It looked exactly like the pictures. It was perfect for what we were needing.
